Ira Wikel - Myofascial Release (MFR)
Description:
This class is a Direct Fascial technique class designed to align the body from top to bottom, front to back and side to side. This class is designed to be PAIN FREE. This class will include at least thirty specific techniques for a complete treatment and will be pain free for both therapist and client.
Fascia is a layer of fibrous tissue that surrounds muscles, groups of muscles, blood vessels, and nerves, binding some structures together while permitting other to slide smoothly over each other.
Fascia is continuous with specialized elements of fascia such as tendons and ligaments. Tendons and ligaments share with the general fascia collagen fibers, elastic fibers, cellular elements and ground substances. Mechanorecptors and proprioceptors are found in these specialized elements and report to the brain and spinal cord information on body position and movement.
Integrated Restoration Techniques is the brain child of Ira Wikel, LMT. A massage therapist since 1982, Ira has been looking for techniques that would produce excellent results without taxing his body. After thirty years of continuing education classes, he put together this ‘greatest hits’ package based on the therapeutic options that work for him. He continues to use them in his practice today and looks forward to teaching more therapists these methods.
ALL OF IRA'S CLASSES COME WITH A 50 PAGE WORKBOOK.

Cinthy Getz Harner of Winchester, VA conceived after many years of trying within one menstrual cycle.
Ann-Marie Dameron of Kannapolis, NC successfully supported 10 out of 12 women using fertility massage techniques.

Ira Wikel - Sports Massage
Description:
In this Russian Sports Massage class you will learn techniques based on one hundred thirty years of scientific and medical research. Each massage stroke is designed to produce specific results. We will cover both Pre and Post event techniques, injuries, heat and cold applications, neurological and structural assessments. These applications will apply to both professional, world and weekend athletes. All techniques are designed to be pain free for both the athlete as well as the therapist.

Integrative Reflexology Certification
This course

Integrative Reflexology is an evolutionary approach to the ancient art. This unique application is easy, and fun to do, without injury from over use of the thumbs. Claire’s background in Radiology (1972-1979) set the stage for her vision of the foot reflexology in a clearer anatomically based foot chart.

The basis of this program is to learn to treat muscles in their plane of action. This course teaches how to merge passive range of motion with your massage techniques allowing relief from pain in one visit. This technique helps in breaking apart adhesions and scar tissue that limit muscle flexiblity and length. By including ROM with treatment you will be able to use less pressure and get the desired results.
We will be covering common muscular injuries such as Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Whiplash, Torticollis, among others. This course will be 12 hours and cover two days.
